The Color Purple

Many of you may know that I  AB-So-Lute-Ly Love the color Purple.

It is said that purple stands for good judgment, or happiness.

After doing some research, I discovered that in the time of Christ, and much throughout history, the colour purple represented royalty and was worn by both men and women. It was worn almost exclusively by members of royal families and leaders of powerful empires. In some cultures it would have been punishable by death for someone "not of the blood of royalty" to wear the colour purple. Purple is and was associated with ROYALTY.

It is understandable that purple represents royalty, if one thinks how purple is a mix of red and blue, that is a mix of female and male energies. Mixing female and male energies grants the power of creation which is an attribute of God, thus of kings whom are God's representatives. Also, the complementary colour of purple would be a goldish yellow which is the colour of the sun. Just look at some purple for 30 seconds then look at a white surface and you should see some gold. Besides, purple is usually associated with spirit.

I also found that Purple was a sign of:
  • Wealth, because purple dye was VERY expensive
  • Leadership, because that was the way the government reconized people as important. This was mainly with senators.
  • Trustworthiness, because purple was basically a campaign sign or flag.

Now, i most say that I knew about it being associated with Royalty and Wealth but as a sign of leadership and trustworthiness i had not the slightest idea.
